"I have received healing of a broken heart....I was very  fearful that I would be condoning my daughter's lifestyle if I showed her love.  But I let go of that fear and chose to love her unconditionally.  This was huge for me.  Understanding her brokenness and her need helped me to understand her life choices better.  I now have empathy for her and am excited to use the tools that I learned."  -

      Introducing Janelle's new book!

After many years of interviewing, researching, writing and re-writing, the book, The Heart of Female Same-Sex Attraction: A Comprehensive Counseling Resource (2008, InterVarsity Press) is finally here. While it has gained the support and interest of many, the book is primarily intended for mental health professionals and educators. However, the book is reader-friendly and can also serve as an indispensable guide for clergy, lay counselors, mentors, friends and especially family members of women with same-sex attraction. And lastly, but perhaps most importantly, this book is dedicated to and for the women who are themselves struggling or looking for greater understanding into their lives. For these women (and their parents), the material presented in this book may stir up difficult emotions, and the stories and framework presented may be initially exposing and challenging. It is my hope that this will not discourage the women or their loved ones from continuing to learn and reflect on their journeys. You are my heros!

      Insurance Claims
To determine whether your insurance policy will cover any of Janelle's services, you will need to contact your benefits department and ask whether they cover mental health services. You will then want to ask if they cover an out-of-network provider who is an MA level licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado. Janelle does not provide managed care, which means, Janelle will not manage your insurance claims and reimbursements. However, if requested, Janelle will provide you with an Invoice/receipt for all payments made to her for counseling services. This invoice can then be directly submitted to your insurance provider. If your insurance company covers her services (individual counseling, consultation, telephone therapy, or psychological testing), they will reimburse you directly based on their predetermined customary percentage. Janelle requires payment for all of her services at the time the service is rendered.
